Today, 16 July 2006, I will begin my new Honda Transalp diary, just writing down things that occured, adding pictures as available and
keeping everyone posted of what's going on with my new / old bike.

For the beginning just some data: Honda Transalp 400ccm
                                         Model 1992
40.ooo kilometers (yes, no mistake, but doesn't it look good?)
new Bridgestone tires front and rear
                                         engine completely overhauled
some (real) minor scratches which I will take care of

I think (and hope) I made a good deal.  Time will show!  As for now I am quite pleased with it.
15 July 2006

Got my Honda Transalp today.  The dealer did a real good
job on it!  Went to the dentist, just a 35 kilometer ride,
but here in Japan a longer trip.  After more than 2 years
without motorcycle - I
DID enjoy it!  And summer
vacation is coming up next week, guess I will take a couple
of days leave and just go somewhere.  More later...........
24 September

And I got my new side-cases from Germany and put them
with the rack on the bike.  Pretty good deal compared
with the price I would have had to pay in Japan.  I
mean, at least they are Hepco&Becker - one of the best
producers of panniers in Germany.  Took me almost 2
hours to get everything done - but it looks pretty good!
16 November 2008

Almost 2 years have passed since I got my Honda
TransAlp.  A lot has happened, a lot of enjoyable times
came up, sometimes less enjoyable ones.  But my TA was
with me most of the time.  The number one event was of
course the
Hokkaido touring last year during the summer
vacation.  This year I couldn't go, but had a great time
during shorter trips like Tottori as well as to Kazurabashi
in Kochi-ken.  Plans are for another Hokkaido trip next
summer ... if time and money as well as health permit!!
And again one year is over.  My Honda TA took not just me to quite
some places, last was Kyushu during Golden Week in May.

Today 4 July 2009 I got new handguards from ACERBIS as well as
new progressive fork springs mad by the German company WIRTH.
And with those new fork springs you really can tell the difference.
Was my TA handling like a waterbed before - well, now it is a
BIKE - no doubt!!!  Here are some pictures of the hand guards:
